James 4:8

Draw near to GOD 
and He will draw near to you. 
cleanse your hands, you sinners; 
and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

The sin is more than the illicit acts of this unnamed man, but the tolerance of a church that refused to correct and deal with the sin in their midst.
